Diving Rebels Scuba Club

Arlington, TX

Established in 1958, the Diving Rebels Scuba Club is the oldest dive club in Texas. The Diving Rebels promote the sport of SCUBA diving in a safe and responsible manner. Programs and guest speakers are provided at regular meeting to improve member's knowledge of safe diving techniques and current concerns about the diving community in general. All diving members must have a nationally recognized certification as a SCUBA diver. Since the Club membership includes several instructors and dive masters as well as a high percentage of advanced open water divers, new divers have plenty of opportunity to dive with experienced divers. Monthly dive outings are organized for trips to various Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas lakes, often including games and/or contests with prizes. Some of the more memorable outings in the past have been at San Marcos Springs and Lake Travis in Texas, Lake Ouachita in Arkansas, the underwater Easter egg hunt at Tyler State Park, Underwater Pumpkin Carving at Lake Murray in Oklahoma, and of course our annual Chili Cook off. The Club also host an open water trip each summer to somewhere in the Caribbean or Mexico. The Club members have gone on trips to Cozumel, Gulf of California near La Paz Baja California Sur, and Roatan Honduras. The Club meets on the first Wednesday of the month at J Gilligan's, 400 East Abrams, Arlington Texas. Social hour begins at 6:30pm with the meeting beginning at 7:30pm.
